WHAT WE OFFER
The Common Sage offers offers writing clubs in community spaces such as coffee shops as well as existing community organizations. In addition to making writing spaces available to students and the larger community, The Common Sage offers the opportunity of having your work showcased online via our website (under construction), social media (Facebook and Instagram), newsletters, annual anthology, community showcase events, and end of the year showcase production.
HOW WE DO IT
Writing clubs provide a space for expression of thoughts and sharing of stories but they are also a way of gathering with people you may not regularly spend time with. Community organizing is one of our values in promoting community collaborations within the city and the writing clubs serve as an avenue for creating social change in a creative fashion.
The anticipated end of the year showcase production is the ultimate collaboration of the larger community as people from all walks of life come together to share about their community and to celebrate it.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to strengthen the community of Lawrence by enhancing what already exists. There are various not for profits in the area, small business, and individuals doing great work, but most of these groups or people never get coverage by the local medial sources. The Common Sage will aim to restore the pride of the city and build bridges within the city and beyond.
